I can get really excited about an interesting piece of rusty metal or some gnarly tree bark! My fingers itch to imitate the colors or textures in metal, fiber, or polymer clay. Most often, though, the thing that really calls the Muse to me is a really cool stick. This was one of those sticks.
Picasso stone is one of my new favorite things. Every bead or pendant or cabochon I see made with this stone looks like a little piece of art, and I can’t resist it! The earthy combination of greens and reds and oranges look like desert Southwest landscapes in miniatures you can hold in your hand.
